Air Force Ground Game Overpowers UConn in 35-26 Victory

In a display of sheer ground dominance, Air Force defeated UConn 35-26 on Saturday at Falcon Stadium in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Kemper Hodges led the charge with 200 rushing yards and four touchdowns, powering an offense that never attempted a pass.

The Falcons (6-2) piled up 366 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 74 carries, completely controlling the game on the ground. UConn (4-4) made a late push, closing the gap to 28-26 early in the fourth quarter when Kalieb Osborne hit Alex Godavitarne for a 55-yard touchdown and Kenji Christian broke free for a 46-yard scoring run.

But Air Force responded with a methodical drive, consuming nearly the remainder of the clock. The Falcons marched 75 yards in 19 plays, taking 11:37 off the clock before Hodges punched it in from 1 yard out with 3:09 left to seal the win.

Hodges also scored on runs of 3, 7, and 62 yards in the first half, helping Air Force build a 21-14 halftime lead. Gage LaDue added a 4-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, the first score of his career.

Osborne finished with 263 passing yards and two touchdowns for the Huskies. Christian led UConn on the ground with 68 rushing yards, while Godavitarne contributed a 55-yard touchdown reception.

Key Analysis

Air Force's ground game proved unstoppable, as the Falcons did not attempt a single pass and still managed to score 35 points. The strategy kept UConn's defense on the field and limited the Huskies' offensive opportunities. The decisive fourth-quarter drive, which lasted over 11 minutes, exemplified Air Force's ability to control the clock and wear down opponents. With the win, the Falcons improve to 6-2 and remain a formidable force in college football.

UConn (4-4) will host North Carolina next Saturday, while Air Force (6-2) travels to Army next Saturday.
