Arguably the most recruited football player in South Jersey history, Xavier Sabb announced his college decision Friday.
A two-time All-State selection and five-star national recruit, the Glassboro senior announced he will attend the University of Oregon.
He chose the Ducks over UCLA, Tennessee and LSU in a ceremony held at Landmark Americana in Glassboro.
Oregon recruited him as a wide receiver and hes considered the crown jewel of the programs 2027 recruiting class.
Oregon was also the first program to extend a scholarship offer.
I felt at home when I first got out there.
It was like I already knew where I wanted to go, Sabb said.
Oregon was a dream, my dream school when I was younger.
It feels great.
Now I have to go out there and really make everything come true.
This was the best situation for me.
Obviously, the end goal is to go into the NFL and I felt this was the best spot for me to go to.
And then me and Coach Ross (Douglas), Ive always wanted to play under him.
Theyll get a hard worker.
Then the only thing Ill be worried about is trying to get in that starting lineup.
Ross Douglas is Oregons wide receivers coach and pass game coordinator.
A 6-foot-1, 190-pounder, Sabb came on the scene as a freshman with great potential.
He has more than lived up to expectations, leading Glassboro to back-to-back state championships and making a name for himself nationally.
Sabb is considered a five-star recruit based on Rivals Industry Ranking, which compiles ratings and rankings from the nations three primary recruiting media services.

Despite the family connection at Alabama, Sabb chose to forge his own path.
Two older brothers are on the Crimson Tide roster Keon, a senior defensive back, and Amari, a freshman wide receiver.
I just wanted to make my own path.
If that was the best situation for me, I would have went but it wasnt my best situation, he said.
Sabb said having seen his older brothers go through the recruiting process made his easier.
I was more prepared because I had two brothers going before me, he said.
They will always give me advice and the biggest advice that they gave me was to be patient.
Dont ever rush anything.
A member of the Big Ten Conference, Oregon finished 13-2 overall last season and was No.
4 in the final AP Poll.
The Ducks lost to eventual national champion Indiana in the College Football Playoff semifinals (Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl).
Aside from his athletic prowess, what is Oregon getting in Xavier Sabb? Theyre getting the best kid outside of just being a football player, Glassboro coach Tim Breaker said.
Theyre going to get a great kid from a great family and hes going to be the hardest worker in the room.
He comes early, he stays late and hes a heck of a leader.
The kid leads by example, but he doesnt mind actually getting his hands dirty and actually showing people how to do it.
Hes vocal on top of that.
Sabb went into last season as the top player on the NJ.com Top 75 list and lived up to the hype.
He led Glassboro to a second straight Group 1 state title and made 54 catches for 796 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Sabb also had two rushes, scoring on both, and was a feared defensive back with three interceptions.
As a sophomore, Sabb was recognized for what he did as a defensive back.
He collected 26 tackles and was among state leaders with seven interceptions - returning one for a TD against Schalick in the South Jersey final.
Offensively, Sabb had 48 catches for 843 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Over his first three seasons, Glassboro is 36-4 overall with two Group 1 state titles and an appearance in the 2023 final.
The Bulldogs will take a 27-game winning streak into the 2026 season and have won 33 of their last 34 games.
In that winning streak are 13 shutouts.
You dont see this happen in a lot of places in New Jersey.
To get into a small town like Glassboro, it not only means a lot for the football program but for the community as a whole, Breaker said.
When he started at six, seven years old, he was a running back.
His first football year at running back he had 35 touchdowns.
He did everything hes doing now when he was a kid.
Weve seen it before but for it to come into fruition like this and for him to grow up and be a great kid as well, thats special for us, right? I think thats the best part.
