Sam Jones’ family presents gift to Stephen Curry<\/em><\/p>\n The Golden State Warriors may be Boston’s latest nemesis, but they still have respect for past Celtics legends.<\/p>\n This includes Basketball Hall of Famer Sam Jones, who died on December 30 at the age of 88. Members of Jones’ family attended his TD Garden for the Celtics-Warriors matchup to track down the star prior to the information. Point guard Stephen Curry gave him a special gift.<\/p>\n As a family member explained to Curry, Jones was watching the Currys Warriors play in 2019 and was reminded of the Celtics in the 1960s. The Celtics of the 1960s were Jones’ most prolific dynasty in NBA history, winning his 10 championships in his 12 seasons.<\/p>\n Jones had a stash of game balls signed with fellow C legend Bill Russell in 2017 and asked his family to give Curry one of the balls if Curry won another title. .<\/p>\n Jones probably hoped Curry wouldn’t win a fourth championship at the Celtics’ expense, but his family still honored his wishes and gave Curry an autographed game ball Thursday night. I gave it to<\/p>\n That’s a pretty cool gesture from the Jones family, who grew up in North Carolina just like Curry and was a good shooter just like Curry.<\/p>\n Curry has the potential to join Hall of Famer Jones one day, but he’s unlikely to catch the Celtics legend in the ring division.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
