Dillian White hopes to secure a major cross-code boxing fight with Francis Ngannou this year after the MMA star confirmed his departure from the UFC.<\/p>\n

The British heavyweight contender has been embroiled in a long-running rivalry with Ngannou that dates back to the summer of 2020, with White revealing a renewed interest in a huge showdown.<\/p>\n

White stole a point over Jermaine Franklin in November, which propelled him back into the fight against the big names in heavyweight division, but is now looking to settle a bitter feud with Ngannou.<\/p>\n

“It’s nice to be champions in two sports – something I wanted to do too – so it’s understandable that he has a great desire to do something like that.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of boxers make fun of MMA and martial arts fighters and thrash them in the boxing ring, but they are not brave enough to enter the cage.<\/p>\n

“It’s a lot easier to knock someone out in a 4-ounce glove with very little padding. Can he do the same with a 10-ounce boxing glove? I know I can.”<\/p>\n

Discussing possible match dates, White added, “Like late March, early April, that would give us plenty of time for full camp.”<\/p>\n

With brutal knockout wins against Derek Chisora, Alexander Povetkin and Lucas Brown, White is never intimidated by the prospect of an explosive encounter with Ngannou.<\/p>\n

“I believe in myself. I know what I can do,” White said.<\/p>\n
