English football clubs have cemented their position as the wealth generators of the sport, accounting for more than half of Europe’s top earners, with Manchester City taking the top spot for the second year in a row. <\/p>\n
Earnings for the Premier League champions rose 13% year-on-year to \u20ac731 million ($794 million), driven by a sharp rise in commercial revenues, according to Deloitte’s annual Money League. Real Madrid placed him second with his \u20ac714 million. Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Bayern Munich were the only non-English teams in the top ten.<\/p>\n

Like his rivals, Tebas hopes the growth of D2C broadcasting will help increase the global appeal of the Spanish league. He said his LaLiga Pass product, a model copied from the NBA, was launched in Indonesia and Thailand last year, followed by India and Turkey. <\/p>\n
Still, the Premier League just has more spending capacity. Nottingham Forest, currently ranked 13th, spent around $150m on their transfer fee this summer.<\/p>\n
On average, only 16% of Money League club boards were deemed racially diverse by Deloitte. Eight clubs reported having no ethnically diverse board members, and he added that three clubs did not disclose the information.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
