GREENVILLE, NC (WITN) – In September, we told you about Greenville United’s semi-pro football organization. They hoped to become a professional football team.<\/p>\n
They signed on Tuesday night to join a new league, the National Premier Soccer League. It’s a 3 year contract.<\/p>\n
\u201cNorth Carolina[Boone]has one team, but every other state in the country has 88 teams. said Michael McAllen, president of Greenville United. It’s not just about coming to a game and playing soccer. But it’s also giving back to the community. “<\/p>\n
The NPSL is a national league of 90 teams. Players are excited to play against takers.<\/p>\n

Greenville United’s Jacob Vogt said he was “on the road to success”. We are all incredibly excited. “<\/p>\n
Greenville Mayor PJ Connelly and others were in attendance for the announcement. This means at least seven home matches at John Paul the Second Catholic High School.<\/p>\n
Greenville United football director Aaron Okway said, “The plan is to get a lot of local talent. Then get players from colleges. Out-of-state can be placed through recommendations.\u201d<\/p>\n
