Francis Ngannou plans to evaluate his options after leaving the UFC, but Tony Bellew said he shouldn’t start boxing. <\/strong><\/p>\n

UFC President Dana White has revealed that former heavyweight champion Naganou was offered a contract that would make him the highest-paid heavyweight in the history of mixed martial arts promotions, but he turned it down, prompting the UFC to announce that he has been awarded the contract. As such, Ngannou must decide whether to join another MMA organization or take up another combat sports discipline entirely, such as boxing. <\/p>\n

Journalist Ariel Helwani took to Twitter to poll fans asking whether they would like to see Ngannou join Bellator, the PFL, BKFC or boxing, and the latter came first.<\/p>\n

This was when former Cruiserweight World Champion Bellew spoke out and tweeted. <\/p>\n

“He won’t be able to face anyone notable in the boxing ring…<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is currently the best MMA heavyweight in the world and has to stay within his discipline.\u201d<\/p>\n

That being said, one of the most lucrative options for Ngannou would be a clash with the current WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury. <\/p>\n

After Fury beat Dillian White last year, Ngannou was invited to the ring in front of 94,000 fans at Wembley Stadium. <\/p>\n

“We’re going to find out who’s the worst mother on earth,” said Ngannou. <\/p>\n

Fury added:<\/p>\n

“When that happens, it’s going to be an explosive fight.”<\/p>\n

And even if he doesn’t fight Fury, he said he plans to enter the world of boxing. <\/p>\n

“My career doesn’t depend on Tyson Fury or anyone else,” Ngannou told ESPN.<\/p>\n

“My desire to box isn’t dependent on Tyson Fury. I still intend to, whether he’s retired or not. <\/p>\n
