NASHVILLE, Tennessee (AP) \u2014 Juuse Saros made 38 saves, including 21 in the third period, to lead the Nashville Predators to a 2-1 victory over the Calgary Flames on Monday night. <\/p>\n
Roman Joshi and Juso Parsinen scored for Nashville on a three-game losing streak. <\/p>\n
Nikita Zadrov scored and Jacob Markstrom made 27 saves for Calgary to close out the five-game road trip with a 2-1-2 record. <\/p>\n
Joshi and Parsinen scored six minutes apart in the first period before Salos got them back on their feet, allowing only Zadrov’s second period goal. <\/p>\n
Salos had to be third sharpest, as Calgary went 21-5 on goal edge in the period. <\/p>\n
Josi is credited with scoring the first goal of the game at 8:26 in the first, but got help from a lucky bounce from Zadorov. From the right point, Joshi fired a one-timer into the Calgary net. Just to the left of Markstrom, Cody Glass tangled with Zadorov, and Joshi’s shot went off Markstrom’s stick and hit Zadorov’s leg. <\/p>\n
Zadroff halved Nashville’s lead with a wrist shot from the high slot with 1:53 left in second. <\/p>\n
Mark Strom kept Nashville from going into a two-goal game with 58.3 seconds left when he saved Mikael Granland’s shot from the right with an acrobatic stack of pads. <\/p>\n
Potential tying goal voided<\/p>\n
Tyler Tofori appeared to tie the game at 3:58 in the third after the puck entered the Nashville net following a goalmouth scramble. A video review found Toffoli skating the puck into the net and he overturned the goal after judging it was a clear kicking motion. <\/p>\n
PARSSINEN TIES ROKIE RECORD<\/p>\n
Parsinen’s first period goal extended his points streak to seven games, tying the Nashville franchise record previously set by Philip Forsberg in 2014. <\/p>\n
In his current winning streak, Parsinen has two goals and seven assists. <\/p>\n
Penalty success<\/p>\n
The Flames ranked seventh in the NHL with 82.1% of penalty kills on Monday, denying Nashville three chances at man advantage in the game. Calgary has allowed only one power play and a goal in his last nine games. <\/p>\n
The Flames were officially 3-3 on penalty kills, but Parsinen’s goal came 10 seconds after the penalty expired and Nashville’s second power play lasted just 17 seconds due to a series of penalties. <\/p>\n
