\n \n LeBron James becomes only the second NBA player in history to surpass 38,000 career points, approaching Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time record.\n <\/p>\n \n James passed a milestone in the first quarter with a midrange jumper, scoring 35 points in Sunday’s game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Philadelphia 76ers.\n <\/p>\n \n The 38-year-old needs just 11 points to reach 38,000 and is now 363 points behind Abdul-Jabbar’s record.\n <\/p>\n \n But personal praise did little to lift James’ spirits as the Lakers lost a close game, 113-112.\n <\/p>\n \n “It’s just frustrating to be in that position and not get a win,” James told reporters after the Lakers lost three in a row.\n <\/p>\n \n Joel Embiid was the top scorer for the 76ers, closing out the night with 35 points and 11 rebounds. Meanwhile, James Harden scored his 24th and he had 13 assists.\n <\/p>\n \n The Lakers were upset that a foul was not awarded in the second half, and Russell Westbrook claimed he grabbed Embiid’s arm when he attempted to shoot.\n <\/p>\n \n “[I was] Trying to attack, trying to reach the basket. Unfortunately, he grabbed my wrist. ‘ Westbook told reporters. “I couldn’t get the ball up. It’s okay, we’ll see tomorrow or tonight.”\n <\/p>\n \n The Lakers are looking to end their losing streak next Monday against the Houston Rockets. Meanwhile, he has won four in his last five games with the 76ers against the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday.\n <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
