Phil Castellini, son of Bob Castellini and COO of the Cincinnati Reds, took the mic again today. This time, at the annual Rosie Redd’s luncheon, he used his platform to show his, uh, Individual<\/em> Management style of a professional baseball team.<\/p>\n

This glorious piece of #analytics was Phil’s way of pointing out that the “haves” of the game of baseball make it impossible for the “have-nots” to even step in the door. He points out something that should be incredibly obvious.<\/p>\n

MLB has 30 teams. The Cincinnati Reds are one of them. <\/p>\n

These days, 12 MLB teams make the playoffs each year.<\/p>\n

40% is greater than 25%. This is the number of teams that have dropped out of the competition by the most recent Opening Day minus one.<\/p>\n
