This naturally means that the player, still in his teenage years, soon got the chance to face his basketball idol.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-a not-size-b not-size-c\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-0\"\/>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-a not-size-b not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-0\"\/>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-a not-size-c not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-0\"\/>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-b not-size-c not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-0\"\/>\n<p>For the young Chicago Bulls duo of Tyson Chandler and Eddie Curry, this dream came true when they faced Kevin Garnett in a preseason game.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"trash-talk\">provocation<\/h2>\n<p>Tyson Chandler played 19 seasons with the Association, appearing in 1160 games for eight different teams. That&#8217;s quite the time on the NBA floor. But he still vividly remembers the 2001 rookie preseason game when he first played &#8220;The Big Ticket,&#8221; whom he had admired since high school.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-a not-size-b not-size-c\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-1\"\/>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-a not-size-b not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-1\"\/>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-a not-size-c not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-1\"\/>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-b not-size-c not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-1\"\/>\n<p><em>\u201cMe and Eddie[Curry]were on the same court as Kevin Garnett when we played Minnesota for the first time in preseason. but I&#8217;m like, &#8216;Damn, that&#8217;s Kevin Garnett.<\/em><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Ballislife\/status\/1612507933228556289?s=20&amp;t=22A5Mb98N1lvcyax2rzaNw\" onclick=\"return phoenixTrackClickEvent(this, event);\" target=\"_blank\">    shared chandler<\/a> Appeared on the Knuckleheads podcast with Quentin Richardson and Darius Miles.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-a not-size-c not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-2\"\/>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-b not-size-c not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-2\"\/>\n<p><em>&#8220;Then I did another warm-up and me and Eddie were side by side at about the same time. Now I laid it down and he laid it down. When KG came to the side and said,<\/em><em>These high school moms think they can fuck me.  F it. I&#8217;m mother&#8217;s ****ticket!<\/em><\/p>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-a not-size-b not-size-c\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-2\"\/>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-a not-size-b not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-2\"\/>\n<p>Garnett&#8217;s trash talk drew young people back, and Chandler said, <em>&#8220;Holy shit. Is he talking to us, Eddie? I don&#8217;t think we&#8217;re in the same game as him.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-a not-size-c not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-3\"\/>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-b not-size-c not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-3\"\/>\n<p><em>&#8220;That man showed me another kind of intense thing.&#8221;<\/em> Chandler added.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-a not-size-b not-size-c\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-3\"\/>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-a not-size-b not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-3\"\/>\n<h2 id=\"set-the-tone\">set the tone<\/h2>\n<p>On the spot, Chandler knew he was playing against a professional veteran looking to set the tone for the game.  With KG&#8217;s intimidation tactics, he cast doubt in Curry and Chandler&#8217;s minds when they questioned their position in the league. Not just a desire, but a testament to an unparalleled experience on the court.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-a not-size-b not-size-c\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-4\"\/>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-a not-size-b not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-4\"\/>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-a not-size-c not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-4\"\/>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-b not-size-c not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-4\"\/>\n<p>Chandler quickly learned that the only way to succeed in the association was to accept the challenge and exceed it. Rather than backing down from intimidation, he decided to use it as motivation to become a better player.
