When two schools are close to each other and fight in the same section, the heat rises with each meeting.<\/p>\n Then there’s the history of post-season interactions. He in the same section The atmosphere is electrifying when the two schools collide in the playoffs.<\/p>\n The South Fayette and Trinity women’s basketball teams tick both of these boxes.<\/p>\n The Lyons and Hillers were rivals in the section dating back to the old Class 3A days. Now these two are competing in Sections 4-5A.<\/p>\n They nearly faced each other in last year’s WPIAL 5A playoffs (South Fayette were the second seed and Trinity were the third seed), but they met on two of the biggest stages. You can play.<\/p>\n The first was the WPIAL Championship Game, where South Fayette defeated Trinity 59-52 in the 2016 Class 3A final. The other came a year after the Hillers knocked out the Lions with his 61-51 win in his PIAA semifinals in 2017.<\/p>\n On Thursday, the two will clash in the first of two meetings the Hillers will host the Lions for this season.<\/p>\n Both teams are 3-0, leading their section. South Fayette has him 11-2 overall, and his latest Trib HSSN Top 5 ranked him second. Meanwhile, Trinity entered with a record of 7-3.<\/p>\n more undefeated fights<\/span><\/p>\n South Fayette at Trinity wasn’t the only place where two teams set perfect section records in Thursday’s WPIAL women’s basketball game.<\/p>\n In Sections 2-4A, Blackhawk visits the Quaker Valley. Both teams are 3-0 in the 10-0 section with the visiting Cougars perfect overall while the Quakers check in with his 9-4 record.<\/p>\n Also in Section 3 of Class 4A, Elizabeth Forward (9-4) moved to nearby Belle Vernon (7-5) to take first place. The host has her Leopards leading the way with a 5-0 section mark, but the Warriors are 4-0 back at half her game.<\/p>\n Burjetstown hosts Brentwood in Section 2-2A. Both teams are tied for first place in this section, with him 3-0.
