Ole Miss Sucker and head coach Matt Mott announced that former Rebel forward Madisine Pezzino has joined the coaching staff as a volunteer assistant coach.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am very excited to have Madison join our coaching staff. She has been a great player, a great captain and a great student assistant for us over the past five seasons,\u201d said Mott. . “Her positive energy and her enthusiasm are a perfect fit to continue our coaching journey with us.”<\/p>\n
Pezzino has been part of Ole Miss Soccer since transferring from Florida in 2018. She played for the Rebels from 2018-21 and worked as a student assistant for the 2022 season.<\/p>\n
As a player, Pezzino played 2,160 minutes on the Rebels’ pitch, during which he scored 9 goals and provided 7 assists. During the 2020 season, she took the team lead in goalscoring, two of which came in a 4\u20133 win over 14th-ranked Georgia. She earned her first-ever SEC Offensive Player of the Week honors for her performance in her Rebels comeback victory.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am grateful for the opportunity to be a volunteer coach for the Ole Miss Soccer Program. This program means a lot to me as a student-athlete and I am honored to continue working with the team and staff in my new role.\u201d I think,” said Pezzino. \u201cI look forward to learning and growing as a coach and helping these athletes become successful, high-level athletes.\u201d<\/p>\n
A native of Grand Island, New York, Pezzino played soccer at Grand Island High School. She broke both New York State’s singles scoring record for her season (73) and career record (251), and was named the Niagara Frontier her league’s Player of the Year for the third consecutive year.<\/p>\n
