Report: Cueto agrees free agent deal with Marlins, makes first appearance on NBC Sports Bayarea<\/em><\/p>\n

Another former Giants player found a new home on the same day Brandon Belt reportedly agreed to a one-year deal with the Toronto Blue Jays.<\/p>\n

The New York Post’s Jon Heyman reported late Monday night that former Giants starter Johnny Cueto has agreed to a free agency deal with the Miami Marlins.<\/p>\n

The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reported last Wednesday, citing sources, that the Marlins, San Diego Padres and Cincinnati Reds were among the teams interested in Cueto.<\/p>\n

Cueto signed a six-year, $130 million contract with the Giants prior to the 2016 season. His two-time All-Star selection, he posted a record of 39 wins, 27 losses, and an ERA of 3.81 in his 614.0 innings during his six seasons in San Francisco.<\/p>\n

The 15-year MLB veteran signed a one-year, $4.2 million contract with the Chicago White Sox last season to defend himself after the Giants turned down Cueto’s $22 million option for 2022 following a sluggish 2021 season. He had a record of 8 wins and 10 losses with a 3.35 odds. He pitched in 158.1 innings.<\/p>\n

Cueto, who turns 37 in February, will join the fifth team in nine seasons.<\/p>\n
