Amarillo, Texas (KFDA) – Both the West Texas A&M men’s and women’s basketball teams won 1-1 last weekend.<\/p>\n
They each hit the road, losing to Angelo State on Thursday but bounced back with a win over UT Permian Basin on Saturday. Despite the loss, the team’s coach seemed happy with their performance on the road trip.<\/p>\n
“The big thing is [if] If you miss 50 shots, you can almost guarantee to hit more than that next time. West’s Texas A&M women’s basketball assistant his coach Will Sherman said after his team shot less than 22 percent of him from the field on Thursday. “It took a little more focus and resilience. Because of the uniqueness of UTPB’s defense, it was kind of a difficult back-to-back Angelo and his UTPB back-to-back kind of thing, so I was very impressed with how our girl bounced back.” I am proud.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cOur guys played hard,\u201d West Texas A&M Men’s Basketball Head Coach Tom Brown said of the two-game stint. “You are very happy when that happens. We bounced back and played very well against UTPB. They are not as good as Angelo. [State], but we played well in both games. I just couldn’t do it the first time. \u201d<\/p>\n
West Texas A&M Basketball will be home for two games this week. They welcome Western New Mexico on Thursday. Next, we’ll take on Eastern New Mexico on Saturday.<\/p>\n
