Congratulations to NBC Connecticut’s Matt Finkel on being named the 2022 National Sports Media Association Connecticut Sportscaster of the Year.<\/p>\n

Matt covers some of Connecticut’s favorite NFL, MLB, and NHL teams, but also provides in-depth coverage of local college and high school sports.<\/p>\n

He enjoys telling stories about the people of Connecticut. This year’s story of him includes Glastonbury Highboys, who dedicated a season to the late sister of his two brothers in the team, his lacrosse, and his domestic violence survivors who deliver a message to a new generation of young boxers. This includes former world champion boxer Christie and his Martin.<\/p>\n

The National Sports Media Association is a non-profit organization that provides educational opportunities for those interested in pursuing a career in sports media. Founded in North Carolina in 1953, the organization now selects Sportscaster of the Year from all 50 states and Washington, DC each year.<\/p>\n
