New York is unlikely to acquire Pittsburgh Pirates All-Star outfielder Brian Reynolds in a trade. This is from USA Today’s Bob Nightingale.<\/p>\n
The Pittsburgh Pirates are nowhere near a contract extension with center fielder Brian Reynolds after he rejected a six-year, $75 million offer and asked for a trade. Yes, the team says, believing Reynolds will still open the season with the Pirates.<\/i><\/p>\n

Reynolds, 27, will hit a career-high 27 home runs in 2022 and will remain under the team’s control through 2025.<\/p>\n
As good as he looks in pinstripes, it’s entirely possible that Yankees general manager Brian Cashman will be done driving and trading for the time being.<\/p>\n
According to NJ Advance Media’s Bob Klapisch, “MLB sources don’t expect the Yankees to make any other big moves before spring training. For now, Aaron Hicks appears to be on the left. “<\/p>\n

After the departure of Andrew Benintendi, who signed a five-year, $75 million deal with the Chicago White Sox, the Yankees have a big hole in the left field.<\/p>\n
Assuming Cashman can’t pry Reynolds out of the Pirates, GM still had what should be considered an impressive offseason.<\/p>\n
He re-signed American League MVP and new team captain Aaron Judge to a record nine-year, $360 million deal and signed first baseman Anthony Rizzo to a two-year, $40 million contract.<\/p>\n
The Yankees also signed one of the best pitchers on the open market, acquiring lefty Carlos Rodon on a six-year, $162 million deal. And New York upgraded its bullpen and brought back former Yankees reliever Tommy Carnley on a two-year, $11.5 million contract.<\/p>\n
