Reuters – Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has reacted to his actions on the touchline after clashing with Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe and match officials in Tuesday’s goalless draw at the Emirates Stadium. I dismissed the criticism.<\/p>\n
Arteta repeatedly approached the fourth referee and had an angry exchange with Howe after referee Andrew Madley refused an appeal for an injury time penalty from an Arsenal player.<\/p>\n
Former England captain and BBC pundit Alan Shearer said his actions were “disrespectful” but insisted the Spaniard had no reason to apologize. Arsenal were indicted by the FA on Friday for failing to control a player.<\/p>\n
Arteta told reporters on Saturday: “I try to do my best for this football club, defend it, promote it and play with the passion that I believe the game needs.<\/p>\n
“Every game is special and every manager behaves very differently about a situation. Also you can’t take context out of a situation. It’s not fair. It’s me! Here on the pitch, for better or worse. and.<\/p>\n
“I always try to be better… If I have to change something, trust me. I will look at myself in the mirror and change immediately.”<\/p>\n
Arsenal will face League One side Oxford United on Monday for an FA Cup third round tie.<\/p>\n
