However, the Golden Eagles have taken five of their last six meetings. Marquette&#8217;s other two main players are averaging double figures, Chloe he&#8217;s 13.4 ppg for Marotta and 12.1 ppg for Liza Karen.<\/p>\n<p>Marquette has held opponents to just 37.5% off the field this season and limited the team to 31.1% across the arc.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in the non-conference season, Marquette had wins over Texas and Gonzaga, and came to Omaha after a 72\u201363 win over DePaul on January 4.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0000FF;\"><strong>Scout #25 Clayton (9-5, 3-3 BIG EAST)<\/strong><\/span><br \/>The Blue Jays are stuck in a rough patch of the season starting the calendar year with a 79-75 home loss to Providence.<\/p>\n<p>The loss was all the more surprising as Clayton shot long balls very well, hitting 16\/32 from across the arc.<br \/>Junior <dfn>morgan marie<\/dfn> He was dominant against the Monks with a career-high 30 points, including 6 trays.<\/p>\n<p>The problem for the second straight game was a defensive blunder in the third quarter.  Against DePaul on December 31, Clayton allowed 31 points, including 17, to Aneetha Morrow.  Four days later, against Providence, the Blue Jays allowed the Monks to shoot 11 of 14 from the field in the frame.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0000FF;\"><strong>Keys To the Game Sunday, January 8<\/strong><\/span>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color:#0000FF;\"><strong>Strength:<\/strong><\/span>    Clayton played with great enthusiasm in their victory over DePaul, but didn&#8217;t have the same energy against Providence.<\/li>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<li><span style=\"color:#0000FF;\"><strong>Find and convert simple violations:<\/strong><\/span>    Marquette clamps defensively so teams can find easy buckets and convert them<\/li>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<li>Chance creates a big advantage.<\/li>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<li><span style=\"color:#0000FF;\"><strong>one quarter:<\/strong> <\/span>Clayton can&#8217;t allow the Golden Eagles to fire in certain quarters.<\/li>\n<p>&#13;\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0000FF;\"><strong>Marie met Jensen and Roncic at 30-point mountaintop<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Junior <dfn>morgan marie<\/dfn> He put in an impressive performance on January 4 against Providence, scoring a career-high 30 points. She also matched her career-best five assists in a contest, shooting 12 of 20 from the field and 6 of 10 from long range.<\/p>\n<p>Marie&#8217;s career best 30 points are on the same level <dfn>Lauren Jensen<\/dfn> When <dfn>Emma Roncic<\/dfn>Jensen scored 30 points in the season-opening victory over South Dakota (78-69) on January 16, 2022, while Roncic trailed 86-80 in the January 16, 2022 win over St. John&#8217;s. Earned 30 points for winning.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0000FF;\"><strong>History says the Blue Jays rally at home<\/strong><\/span><br \/>since head coach <dfn>Jim Flannery<\/dfn> During his reign at Clayton prior to the 2002-03 season, Clayton had lost four straight at home only three times.  It happened in 2005-06, 2018-19 and 2020-21.<\/p>\n<p>The Blue Jays are 2-3 at home, losing to No. 21 Arkansas, No. 8 Connecticut and Providence.
