In UH he improved to 12-3 overall and in the Big West he improved to 3-0, winning seven in a row.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"docs-internal-guid-6c61722f-7fff-d24c-fb80-9f9444587e62\">For the second straight game, UH led from wire to wire, aided by a breathtaking defensive effort and strong closeouts.  UH held UCSD (6-9, 1-2) scoreless for nearly nine minutes of the first half to build his 14-point halftime lead and he closed the game with a 9-0 run to keep the winning streak going. At that point, Bowes made a pivotal move, scoring 10 unanswered points to trigger his 16-4 run, giving UH his 35-21 lead at the half.  <\/span><span id=\"docs-internal-guid-6c61722f-7fff-d24c-fb80-9f9444587e62\">&#8216;Bowes held the Tritons scoreless for nearly nine minutes in that stretch, forcing UCSD to make ten first-half turnovers.  UH was also alive in the attack.  Less than a week after he recorded his season-low 1\/11 on 3-pointers, UH drilled his 5th of his first 10 attempts beyond the arc, His shooting percentage in the first half corresponded with 52%. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"docs-internal-guid-6c61722f-7fff-d24c-fb80-9f9444587e62\">The Tritons didn&#8217;t fold and started the second half with an 8-0 run to prompt a UH timeout.  UCSD continued their comeback efforts into the second half, coming close to four again and again when they cut the deficit to 50-46 with 4:09 left. <\/span><span id=\"docs-internal-guid-6c61722f-7fff-d24c-fb80-9f9444587e62\">But UH closed the door with a strong finish.
