Aurora, Minnesota goaltender Sarah Fuller announced her retirement from football on Tuesday at the age of 23.<\/p>\n

The first player to sign Aurora in its first season, Fuller helped lead the club to an undefeated regular season and USL W Championship game.<\/p>\n

“I am in a place where I am excited to start a new chapter in my life,” she said in a team statement. I am grateful for the successes and failures, the people I have met, and the opportunities my beautiful game has given me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fuller was also the first woman to score points playing in a Power Five college football game when she kicked for Vanderbilt in 2020.<\/p>\n

After kicking off the Nov. 28, 2000 game against Missouri, she said. In the process, you can achieve great things. “<\/p>\n

Fuller made 13 appearances for Aurora, allowing just eight goals. She finished second in the USL W Goalkeeper of the Year voting.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
