This is an educated guess about the cover athletes of the most popular sports video game titles expected to be released this year.

NBA 2K24 – Ja Morant

Memphis Grizzlies’ Ja Morant can seriously be argued to be the most exciting player in the NBA today. From a sports standpoint, you can count on one hand how many people can pull off some of the aerial moves Morant performs every night.

Morant isn’t just an explosive, he’s also a substance performer.

The 23-year-old superstar has established himself as a legitimate MVP candidate, averaging 27 points, 6.2 rebounds and 8.1 assists per game this season. Additionally, Morant’s Grizzlies appear primed for a long run in the postseason, which usually helps add to the considerations.Finally, Morant’s style is his 2K main draw. It ties in well with the age group.

<fbs-ad position="inread" progressive="" ad-id="article-0-inread" aria-hidden="true" role="presentation"/>

Why it doesn’t work

Memphis is still a small market team. J-Rod has just turned 22 this week, winning his league MVP of the United States, making him a young and dynamic fit for cover his athletic duties.

Why it doesn’t work

Rodriguez is still really young and this honor may be a year too early.

Madden 24 – Justin Jefferson

<fbs-accordion class="expandable" current="-1">

MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA – SEPTEMBER 11: Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson (18) celebrates his … [+] The Griddy on a first quarter 5-yard touchdown reception during an NFL game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Sept. 11, 2022. EA put it on Madden, but it makes sense to put Justin Jefferson, who popularized it in the NFL, on the cover.

Jefferson on the cover will be more than dancing. The Minnesota Vikings star is approaching her record-breaking 2022 season. By Week 16, Jefferson had gained her 1,756 receiving her yards. This means he is 209 yards short of breaking Calvin Johnson’s record of 1,964 receiving yards in one season.

Of course, Megatron achieved his goal in 16 games. Jefferson needs a monster performance against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday to get it done.

Either way, he’s had a great year, and the 23-year-old has a season that could put him on the cover of Madden 24.

Why it doesn’t work

Primarily when QBs such as the Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen and the Cincinnati Bengals’ Joe Burrow are being considered, Jefferson may run into an attractive position in the sport.

NHL 24 – Kare Makar

<fbs-accordion class="expandable" current="-1">

TAMPA, FL – JUNE 26: H8 #2of the Stanley Cup Carriage following the Colorado Avalanche Series. … [+] Defeats the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 6 of the 2022 NHL Stanley Cup Finals on June 26, 2022 at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.
