In the video, he could be seen banging his head on the turf after being hit during play. Dolphins manager Mike McDaniel said Wednesday that he recommended Tagovailoa see a doctor after reviewing the game video.Tagovailoa was diagnosed with a concussion, McDaniel said Wednesday.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-qa=\"article-body\">\n<p data-qa=\"drop-cap-letter\" data-el=\"text\" class=\"wpds-c-cYdRxM wpds-c-cYdRxM-iPJLV-css font-copy\">In place of Tagovailoa, backup quarterback Teddy Bridgewater will start Sunday&#8217;s Dolphins game against the New England Patriots in Foxborough, Massachusetts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-qa=\"article-body\">\n<p data-qa=\"drop-cap-letter\" data-el=\"text\" class=\"wpds-c-cYdRxM wpds-c-cYdRxM-iPJLV-css font-copy\">Tagovailoa missed two games in October after being diagnosed with a concussion. He was taken off the field on a stretcher and taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital after sustaining an injury during the Sept. 29 game in Cincinnati. After a subsequent stumble, doctors cleared Tagovailoa to return to the Sept. 25 game against the Buffalo Bills at the Miami Gardens.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-qa=\"article-body\">\n<p data-qa=\"drop-cap-letter\" data-el=\"text\" class=\"wpds-c-cYdRxM wpds-c-cYdRxM-iPJLV-css font-copy\">The NFL and NFLPA conducted a previous joint review of the case. They concluded that their concussion protocol had been followed &#8220;as written&#8221;.
