But amid losses, UNC also made some history.<\/p>\n<p>Buy Tar Heels Tickets<\/p>\n<p>But not in a good way.<\/p>\n<p>As pointed out by The Athletic, UNC have lost five and are the first preseason No. 1 team to lose five in a season prior to January 1st. In their loss, they struggled on defense and guard play. Against Pitt, UNC had a good first half but faltered in the second half before a big run from the Panthers took the lead and eventually won the game.<\/p>\n<p>When the calendar turns to January, there&#8217;s plenty of basketball left. That&#8217;s good news.
