He played his 477 games in the last five years with the Giants, batting . 250\/. 312\/.<\/p>\n<p>In 2022, Longoria batted .244\/.315\/.451 with 14 RBIs and 42 RBIs in 89 games against San Francisco.<\/p>\n<p>In November, the Giants declined Longoria&#8217;s $13 million contract option for the 2023 season, instead paying him a $5 million buyout. That roster move opened up opportunities at third base for David Villar, Wilmer Flores and prospective Casey Schmidt.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of the move, Longoria packed up and entered free agency for the first time in his career.<\/p>\n<p>Josh Rojas, a 28-year-old left-handed hitter, was the Diamondbacks&#8217; main third baseman last season.
