The man who was stabbed on the dance floor of Birmingham nightclub Crane on Boxing Day has been named Cody Fisher.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Police said yesterday that a 22-year-old man had been detained at a city center address and a 21-year-old man had been detained in London. <\/p>\n
A knife was recovered as part of the investigation, and an autopsy confirmed Fisher died of a stab wound, West Midlands Police said.<\/p>\n
Police have also submitted a request to Birmingham City Council to review the crane’s license to operate, and a hearing is scheduled to be held on Friday to pursue that.<\/p>\n
Licensing officers called for immediate action to be taken to ensure public safety, and the venue canceled plans for New Year’s Eve.<\/p>\n

Detective Chief Inspector Ian Ingram, who is leading the investigation, reiterated on Thursday a plea for anyone with information to contact police.<\/p>\n
“Seven people are currently in custody and continue to build a picture of the events that led to the tragic loss of this young man’s life.<\/p>\n
“People continue to provide information, but we look forward to hearing from those who have not yet reached out to us.<\/p>\n

A relative from Fisher’s home in Studley, Warwickshire told MailOnline: We are devastated and trying to figure it out.<\/p>\n

Originally from Redditch, the 23-year-old was a semi-professional footballer who played for Stratford Town, Stourbridge FC and Bromsgrove Sporting. <\/p>\n
