(Reuters) – The 2024 Copa America will be played in the United States by the CONCACAF and CONMEBOL federations announced on Friday as part of a new strategic partnership that includes a co-organized club tournament.<\/p>\n
Six invited teams from the CONCACAF (North, Central America and Caribbean) region will also participate in next year’s Copa America, organized by the South American Federation (CONMEBOL).<\/p>\n
Six CONCACAF teams also participated in South America’s most important national team tournament, which was held in the United States for the second time after the 2016 Special Commemorative Tournament.<\/p>\n
In the women’s division, CONCACAF invites four South American national teams to the 2024 W Gold Cup. The tournament will be held in the United States for the first time this year.<\/p>\n
CONMEBOL and CONCACAF have also announced plans for a club tournament to take place in 2024. Two teams from each region will participate, with four qualifying teams from the existing regional tournaments Copa Libertadores and the CONCACAF Champions League.<\/p>\n
