The humble boxer had a huge run into Alberta’s Silver Gloves Tournament of Boxing at Medicine Hat from January 14-15.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Noah Janssen, Ayden Foster, Emily Vigneault, Jimstevens Pasibe and Alex Lypchuk entered the tournament and each went undefeated all weekend.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Humble Boxing Academy head coach Lucas George said he was impressed with everyone’s performance given the new challenges they faced in the tournament.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cEach of our fighters faced their opponents in a style never seen before, and each of our athletes was definitely pushed to take the win,\u201d George said. said.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

“It was a good event and everyone put on a good show. I was very impressed with the team,” he said.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIn tournaments, losing is normal. It\u2019s pretty cool to be undefeated in a tournament like this with five athletes.\u201d<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

George said Humble Boxing not only had a big presence in the ring, but they had a sizeable crowd supporting them throughout the tournament.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

“Every time our fighters came, we were as loud as Medicine Hat,” said George.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

“They push each other every night and we are very family oriented. Everyone makes sure every other teammate is doing the best they can,” he said.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

“It’s so cool to see these athletes working together like they do.”<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Vigneault and Lypchuk made their debut as amateur boxers at the event, and several athletes returned home with some accolades as well.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Pasibe won the title of Best Elite Boxer and Lipchuk won the title of Best Junior A.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Each athlete is aiming to qualify for the Golden Gloves in Calgary on February 18th. The club will also compete in his YYC Cup, and some athletes will participate in the state competition in his March.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Bigneaux will also be participating in the Canadian Winter Games as part of Team Alberta in late February.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Four other athletes are also set to debut later this year.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
