For four years, Mary Chow described herself as just a soccer mom who wanted to help out when she took over the job as head boys’ soccer coach for the new Riverside High School soccer team. <\/p>\n
Last week, Chow coached his final game with the Bulldogs and said his four years of experience couldn’t have been more rewarding.<\/p>\n
“We had an amazing year,” Chow said. \u201cWhen we started playing four years ago, we were under mercy every game.<\/p>\n
Chow, who works as a speech pathologist at the Western Line School District, will relinquish his duties as head coach of the Bulldogs next season to watch more of his son Jay play both football and soccer at St. Joseph’s Catholic School. to be able to Jay is the kicker for St. He Joseph Irish.<\/p>\n
This year’s Bulldog soccer team was led by seniors Michael Kelly, Joseph Donald and Peyton Taylor.<\/p>\n “Payton was the best midfielder in the team and could play any position,” said Chow.<\/p>\n Eighth grade goaltender Preston Beville also contributed to Riverside’s success. Belleville has stopped his 93% of all goals.<\/p>\n \u201cThe whole team has really improved this season. said the Riverside coach.<\/p>\n Riverside High School’s soccer program began five years ago when then-sixth grade student Dawson Taylor Mulder gave a presentation to the school board about why the school started a soccer team.<\/p>\n Five years later, Mulder is a junior and playing for the Bulldog soccer team. There is no doubt that the school board heard his Moulder presentation and made the right decision.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was a great decision to give so many kids the chance to play football,\u201d Chow said. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
