If you’re a reader here, it should come as no surprise that I’ve been a huge supporter of the “Todd Helton for HoF” fan club. And sadly, my long wait (and maybe Todd’s) didn’t pay off yesterday.<\/p>\n
Helton narrowly won just over 72% of the vote (he needed 11 more votes to get in), but Scott Rolen got the necessary 75% of the vote to force a pass on Cooperstown, He was inducted into the baseball Hall of Fame. Lauren was the only inductee in the 2023 class.<\/p>\n
It’s also interesting to note (perhaps not too surprising) that none of the new names came close to entry in this year’s poll. <\/p>\n
It saddens me that Helton is gone for another year, but it’s comforting to know that he’s getting a little closer each year. (2024, Buddy).<\/p>\n
