Lexington, Kentucky – Kentucky Women’s Soccer has announced four transfers for the Spring 2023 season, with Marz Josephson, Grace Philpotts, Mia Bookhard and Caitlin Fischnick all set to join the roster.
Between them, the group has a combined 11 years of Division I football experience and 123 appearances. Learn more about each newcomer below.
Marz Josephson – goalie
class: graduate student
home town: Apex, North Carolina
Previous school: University of North Carolina
Josephson spent four years at Chapel Hill from 2019-2022, reaching two NCAA Finals and three National Semifinal appearances. In his 2019 freshman year, the goalie started 16 games for the Tarr Heels, where he averaged 0.56 goals and a .688 save percentage. Josephson missed his sophomore season and his junior season due to injury, but last season he appeared in nine games, only allowing him three goals and posting a .800 save percentage. I’m back. Josephson graduated from UNC with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science. She was the valedictorian of her Crossroads Flex High School and a U17 WNT player while she was also named a member of the pool while in the US GNT she attended five camps.
Grace Philpotts – defender
class: Junior
home town: Fenton, Michigan
Previous school: depaul
Philpotts arrives in Lexington after three seasons in the Big East with the DePaul Blue Demons. She earned BIG EAST All-Freshman Team honors in 2020 after starting seven games during her first college season.The following year, Phil Potts started all 18 games for the Blue Demons, finishing in 1573 minutes. 4 assists in action. Last season, Philpotts started 12 games, appeared in 16 games, had one assist and she had four shots. Before entering college, Phil Potts was invited to her ECNL/id2 National Training camp in 2017. She participated in the 2017 ECNL She National She Playoffs and the team finished third.
Mia Bookhard – Forward
class: Junior
home town: Upper Marlborough, Maryland
Previous school: Wofford
Bookhard made 48 appearances and started 40 in his three years at Wofford. The forward has eight college goals and two assists to her credit.Last season, Bookhard ended her year with three goals, all of which were game-winners. and recorded his 12 shots on target, a career-high. In 2020, Bookhard was named to the Southern Conference All-Freshman Team after leading the Terriers with three goals and six points. As a First-Team All-State, she helped her team achieve a record of 17-2-1.
Caitlin Fishnick – Forward
class: freshman
home town: Sauk Prairie, Wisconsin.
Previous school: University of Wisconsin-Green Bay
Fishnick started nine games for Phoenix in 2022, contributing one goal, one assist and three shots on target. In high school, Fishnick was named to the All-State First Team during his senior year, was named Conference Player of the Year in his junior season, and won the Souk his Prairie High School Conference title to his championship. helped me to As a freshman in high school, Fishnick said he scored 45 goals and tallied 103 points. She played her soccer club at the Madison 56ers.
