Lightweight Willian “Babyface” Silva will take on endurance veteran Benjamin Lamptey on Saturday, Jan. 28 in Lowell, Massachusetts.

Against Sao Paulo Brazil, Silva went 29-4 with 17 knockouts. In October, he scored an impressive second-round knockout against Carlos Gaston Suárez.

Lamptey, from Accra, Ghana, is 13-9-2 with 9 KOs. As an amateur, he fought in his Commonwealth games and challenged his future undisputed junior welterweight champion Josh Taylor. Lamptey is now on a two-game winning streak, most recently he defeated Eric Assante in July.

The scheduled 8-round match will take place as part of the “Down and Dirty 5” promoted by Reyes Boxing Promotions in conjunction with Fire Fist Boxing Promotions.

Jody Carigia of Silva’s promoter, Fire Fist Boxing Promotions, said: “Willian was great in his last fight and has a big opportunity coming up, but he has to deal with the deal with Lamptey first.” Since returning to the lightweight division, he’s shown an aggressive style and punches with authority, and fans will enjoy what we see on January 28.”
