The Indianapolis Colts suffered a sixth straight loss on Sunday after losing to the New York Giants. With one game left in the regular season, the Colts’ position in the 2023 NFL Draft has become clear.
Depending on the strength of the schedule component, the Colts had a slim chance of finishing with the No. 1 overall pick, but that was never a realistic possibility.
The Jaguars blew the Texans on Sunday to secure the top two spot. The Chicago Bears now own the No. 2 pick and are on a nine-game losing streak to the Detroit Lions.
The Bears are a one-point underdog against a Minnesota team that will likely rest the starter, hosting the Vikings on Sunday. A win might drop them to fourth place, but a win by the Texans over the Colts would move them up to number one.
The Seattle Seahawks currently hold the No. 3 pick for the Denver Broncos. The Broncos lost to the Texans and the Colts must beat the LA Chargers in a four-game winning streak to move up.
The Arizona Cardinals are in fourth place and have lost six in a row. They head to San Francisco on Sunday as his 13.5 point underdog.
The Cardinals and Broncos are likely to lose the game, cementing their position ahead of the Colts regardless of the outcome against the Texans.
A Colts victory means the only team they can change places with is the LA Rams, who send a pick to the Lions.
The SI Sportsbook names the Colts a 3.0-point favorite over the Texans on Sunday.
The Colts’ Texans may not look like Sunday’s marquee matchup on the docket, but they will play a big role in the top five picks of April’s NFL Draft.
