The Milwaukee Bucks have been grappling with star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo’s absence after he missed four straight games Monday with a sore knee.
Thankfully for Milwaukee, veteran point guard Drew Holiday put in another strong performance to lead the team to a 130-122 victory over the Toronto Raptors at the Fiserv Forum. Holiday had 37 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block.
After achieving 30 points just twice earlier in the entire 2022-23 season, he has scored 30 points for the second time in a row. The 32-year-old took the win with his efficient 16/26 shooting from the field.
With Holliday leading the way, the Bucks had six players scoring in double figures, including all five starters. Grayson Allen scored 25 and Brook Lopez his 19. Joe Ingles came on as a substitute and he scored 15 points. Bobby Portis had 12 points and 12 rebounds, and Pat Connaughton had 10 points.
But Holiday was the star of the night, and the NBA’s Twitter applauded his efforts to keep Milwaukee’s best player on the floor.

Holiday made his only appearance in the 2013 All-Star Game. The 13-year career veteran has been a consistent performer in points at his guard position, averaging 17 points and his 6 assists in each of the last six seasons. .
Perhaps this recent run gets Holiday a well-deserved nod for this year’s All-Star Game.
Holiday and the Bucks (29-16) will be looking for a third straight win against the Cleveland Cavaliers (28-17) on Saturday.
