Jürgen Klopp saw his side humbled again in Saturday’s Premier League, losing 3-0 to a superior Brighton side.
Things did not improve on the South Coast as the Reds entered the contest on the back of a string of disappointing performances and Roberto De Zerbi’s impressive side dominated from start to finish.
Brighton wrested control from the off, dominated midfield and, together with Kaoru Mitoma, were a constant threat on the left flank.
Despite the Seagulls’ dominance, the Reds survived to half-time thanks to a superb defense from Ibrahima Konate and a penalty that was correctly canceled after Solly March was ruled offside by VAR.
Calamity struck Liverpool just two minutes after half-time when Joel Matip lost possession cheaply at the edge of the box and Brighton took advantage of Mitma who found March at the far post and tapped home.
Six minutes later, it was 2-0 and March put up some tougher defense before scoring brilliantly from the edge of the box.
