This series will serve as a guide for the 2023 draft class. From scout reports to mock drafts to examining different scenarios, we cover every angle of the NFL draft and Minnesota’s Vikings future.
The draft class’ focus in this space is on wide receivers, running backs, cornerbacks, and the Vikings’ primary needs at both interior and edge pass rushers.
Vikings are going to have four picks before compensation selections are awarded, and they should make the most of them.

strength
Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports
One of Hodges-Tomlinson’s hallmarks is his ball skills. Despite being one of the smallest cornerbacks in the NFL Draft since 1999, he has defended 36 passes and recorded 5 interceptions in his 38 career games. He attacks the ball relentlessly.
Due to its small size, its strength is quickness. He can evade offensive tackles and attack the ball his carrier. He’s also a great tackler. Playing with some level of vigor, as the internet says, he has that pal.
Hodges-Tomlinson has the speed to succeed in man and zone. He can play his technique well on the trail and can keep up with the fastest players.
weakness
Mark J. Levilas-USA TODAY Sports
Hodges Tomlinson is too small to be a truly effective NFL starter. His ball production comes from easily contested and not perfectly placed balls. Teams can take advantage of him by simply throwing the ball over him when he is playing in his zone short.
Hodges-Tomlinson’s frame doesn’t allow him to have much power. He is easily bullied by both wide receivers and offensive linemen, and he can also scrimmage quickly out of his line as his hips can be flipped easily.

If Hodges Tomlinson was 3-4 inches taller and 20 pounds heavier, we might be talking about him in the first round. Unfortunately, his size becomes a severe limitation. Length and size can be somewhat compensated in college for the consistently seen inaccurate passers. In the NFL, it is greatly minimized because quarterbacks are more accurate. can be a good rotation corner and can be a quality slot corner.
