Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao was announced as the newest member of the RIZIN roster during Bellator MMA vs. RIZIN, which aired from Saitama Prefecture, on Saturday’s early morning broadcast (see results here).
The former boxing world champion attended Bellator MMA vs. RIZIN and finally made an in-ring appearance to announce his new contract. Fans of the fight were excited to say the least.

“I was here as a guest a few months ago and tonight I have a very exciting announcement to make,” said Pacquiao. “I have agreed to fight Rizin next year. I’m open and excited to fight a Japanese fighter.”
Pacquiao, who turned 44 earlier this month, has retired from professional boxing since suffering a close decision loss to Yordenis Ugas in August 2021. Pacquiao’s most recent match was his match against DK Yoo in South Korea earlier this month, where “Pac-Man” won by unanimous decision.
Pacquiao looks to follow in the footsteps of boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. and compete his talents against Japanese fighters under the RIZIN banner.Learn more about Pacquiao’s RIZIN debut this year. Fight fans will have to wait a little longer, but this is exciting news.
