Haha Clinton-Dix will wear his cleats and retire as a member of the Packers.
Green Bay general manager Brian Gutkunst announced Thursday that veteran safety intends to retire with the team where he began his NFL journey. In 71 games, he recorded 419 tackles, 14 interceptions, 38 pass deflections and 3 forced fumbles, starting 65 of them.
In his second year in the league, Clinton-Dix led the Packers with a career-high 117 tackles and a career-high three sacks.
A first-round pick by the Packers in the 2014 NFL Draft, Clinton-Dix appeared in seven playoff games for the franchise, recording 39 tackles, three interceptions and 11 pass deflections. He earned Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors in ’16 after leading Green Bay with a career-high five interceptions.
In October 2018, Green Bay traded Clinton-Dix to the Commanders in exchange for a fourth-round pick. He appeared in all his 16 games with the Bears in 19 of his season after appearing in his last nine games for the team.
Following his stint with the Bears, he played two games for the Raiders in 2011 and spent time with the Cowboys, 49ers and Broncos.
