The UNC Baseball program enters the 2023 season with one of college baseball’s top players and a highly rated frontrunner in the 2024 MLB Draft.
Outfielder Vance Honeycutt was named the top overall draft candidate in the 2024 draft, according to Perfect Game USA. Honeycutt was also named ACC Player of the Year.

Last season, Honeycutt posted .296/.409/.672 and had 25 homers, 57 RBIs, and 29 stolen bases. He helped lead North Carolina to a regional victory and super-history before being eliminated.
As a freshman, he was a consensus Freshman All-America. He became the first player in his UNC baseball history to hit 20 home runs and his 20 stolen bases in the same season.
He earned five All-American honors following his freshman season and was a third-team All-ACC selection.
Honeycutt finished ACC in stolen bases (2nd), home runs (4th), sacrifice bunts (5th), triples (5th), total bases (6th), at-bats (8th), and runs scored (10th). ranked within the top 10 of ) and slugging percentage (10 days).
