David Pasternak scored again Saturday night as the Boston Bruins beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-3 at TD Garden in one of the most exciting games of the 2022-23 NHL season.
The superstar right wing currently has 33 goals, four ahead of Edmonton Oilers Center’s Conor McDavid in the race for the Rocket Richard Trophy. Pastranak has scored 59 goals (33 goals, 26 assists) in his 42 games, becoming the Bruins’ first 50-goal scorer since Cam Neely in 1993-94, and Phil his Esposito. He is on pace to become the team’s first 60-goal scorer since. 1974-75.
Another Bruins vs. Leafs playoff series in 2023 is a real treat for fans.
But the main storyline involving Pastnak isn’t the first half of his historic season. It’s the fact that he hasn’t been signed beyond the current campaign.
