Carbondale, Illinois – After suffering a road loss in the first Missouri Valley Conference of the season, the Panthers are hoping to get back to how they win on the road on Saturday.

UNI will play Saluki, Southern Illinois at home on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers last played in Southern Illinois in mid-February 2022. UNI failed to beat MVC regular season champion Salukis on his court last season, losing 64-60. The Panthers will seek their first win at Carbondale since 2021.

Panthers:
– UNI will suffer their first defeat in two weeks on Thursday night if they self-harm along the way. The Panthers failed to shoot in his final 3:40 of the game and Missouri lost him 71-67.
– In addition to struggling stretches, the Panthers posted a three-season low on Thursday night. UNI he shot 18.8% and grabbed only 23 boards in 40 minutes.

She’s on pace to have a season with the Panthers’ eighth-best rebounding average, alongside current Drake head coach Allison Pohlman.

Sarkis:
– Southern Illinois is currently 7-11 overall and 4-5 in the Missouri Valley Conference. Saluki lost his last game Thursday night to Drake, 87-73.
– Salukis almost achieved a team-high in points earned in losses this season. The 73 points come just after Southern Illinois lost 80-76 to IUPUI at the start of the season.
– Southern Illinois has the third highest scoring offense in the league, behind Drake and UNI. Saluki ranks 79th in the nation with his 71.3 points per game average.
– Saluki guard Ashley Jones scored a career-high 30 points on 11-of-21 shooting in Southern Illinois’ loss to Drake on Thursday. Jones leads the Salukis in shooting, averaging 15.4 points per game. Jones has scored in double figures in 14 of his 17 games, including five games this season that saw him rise to 20 points.
