Chicago (January 5, 2023) – The U-19 Men’s Youth National Team of the United States will kick off 2023 with a training camp from January 5-13 at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida.
Players born after January 1, 2004 are eligible for this U-19 MYNT cycle, and head coach Marko Mitrovic has brought 23 players to South Florida. He will qualify for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Indonesia this summer.

Seven players returned from the U-19’s strong run in September’s Slovenian Nations Cup, where USA defeated Malta, Croatia and Scotland. He has four of his players in all five of his U-19 MYNT camps on the cycle now. Defenders Reid Baker Whiting and Nolan Norris, and midfielders Fabian Loyola and Brian Moyado.
Defenders Kamran Asito, Grayson Detoni, Walter Portales and Fritz Vollmer, midfielders Tyler Pasnick, David Lewis and Sam Williams, and forwards Malik Sanogo, Tarik Scott and Darren Yapi are 10. players will make their U-19 debut in Florida.
There are 20 different clubs on the roster, including 11 clubs in Major League Soccer, 2 clubs in the USL Championship, and 4 clubs abroad (2 in Germany, 1 in Mexico and Scotland). Currently, Duke’s defender Ashito and his UNC midfielder, Williams, are his two players competing in college. The team hails from 13 different states, led by three players each from California and Texas.
