Salve Regina men’s soccer players Evan Arpin ’24 and Jordan Borges ’24 were named to the Scholar All-Region and Scholar All-American teams respectively by United Soccer Coaches.

These awards are just a few of the many achievements Erpin and Borges have achieved over the past season. They were each named to the All-His CCC First Team last season and were also listed in the United Soccer Coaches’ All-Region squad for the 2022 season.

Men’s soccer head coach Craig O’Rourke II said: “I’ve always considered the ‘All-American’ nickname to be the highest achievement a student-athlete can achieve while in college.”

According to O’Rourke, the award makes Erpin and Borges the sixth and seventh All-American players in the history of Salve Regina’s men’s soccer program.

Jordan has been the dominant offensive threat for Salve Regina since arriving on campus in 2020, according to O’Rourke. This year, Jordan has been playing the dual role of playmaker and finisher, and has had to find a way to balance his commitment to his defensive form and line of engagement with his ability to move forward.

Eplin has settled into a more traditional centre-back position after playing the majority of the 2021 season in a more attacking role for the side, but has been unable to create several scoring chances for Salve Regina in the second half of the season. promised to step forward to help

“We have talked many times about the commitment and dedication it takes for a student-athlete to be named to the Academic All-Conference and even Academic or Scholar All-Region because so many have won these awards before. .” O’Rourke. “But Evan and Jordan’s level of dedication is truly something special…. Their competence and recognition in the field are only matched by their commitment and dedication to their research.”
