Here are Baseball America’s top 100 prospects for 2023.

After catcher Adley Lutschman was baseball’s number one choice last year, his teammate and Orioles infielder Gunnar Henderson steps to the top of the list this year. Baseball Henderson, his 2022 Minor League Player of the Year in the United States, was named Baltimore’s second-round pick in 2019. They now look like a cornerstone of the Baltimore roster, positioned to be perpetual playoff contenders.
He’s not the only chick ready to hatch. Orioles right-hander Grayson Rodriguez ranks his sixth overall and is one of the game’s top pitching contenders, behind Phillies right-hander Andrew Painter.
No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 draft, Jackson Holliday rounds out a trio of Baltimore’s top 15 picks. In his short samples as an amateur and as a professional, Holiday garnered rapturous praise from scouts and executives around the game.
Henderson was followed by D-backs outfielder Corbyn Carroll, who has responded well to an aggressive mandate in 2022 and paved the way from Double-A to the big leagues.

Henderson and Carroll open the year at the top of the list, but won’t last long. Both have to graduate within the first few weeks of the regular season. That would make way for Brewers outfielder Jackson Turio, the breakout star of the 2022 minor league season.
At just 18, Churio has shown enough skill and tools to fly past the Arizona Complex League and into the ball for a full season in early May. He started his opening day at Low-A brilliantly and didn’t stop his hitting the year he finished at Double-A. He has more than any other player on this list.
A top-ranked pitcher on the list, Painter blazed a scorching trail, as did Churio. In doing so, he joined Chad Billingsley, Forrest Whitley, Zach Greinke, Dylan Bundy and Clayton Kershaw to reach Double-A in his first post-draft season since 2006. The only prep pitcher.
Paynter passed Rodriguez and Marlins right-hander Yuri Perez in the nod as the game’s top pitcher candidate. was bullying hitters throughout the Southern League.
