Three years after Kobe Bryant’s death, reactions flood the sports world

Thursday marks the third anniversary of the helicopter crash that killed Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, and seven others.

Nicknamed the “Black Mamba,” Bryant, who died at the age of 41, spent his entire 20-year NBA career in Los Angeles.

An 18-time All-Star, 15-time All-NBA player, and 5-time champion, Bryant will be posthumously inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame in 2021.

As a tribute to the NBA great, the response was flooded from across the sports world.

Along with a photo of Kobe and Gianna smiling, the Lakers posted on Twitter, “Today and Forever.”

Bryant is survived by his wife Vanessa and three daughters.

Along with Kobe and Gianna, the other victim in the fatal accident in Calabasas, California was 13-year-old Peyton Chester. Sarah Chester, 45 years old. Alyssa Altobelli, 14 years old. Keri Altobelli, 46 years old. John Altobelli, 56 years old. Christina Moser, 38 years old. Alla Zobayan, 50 years old.

The NBA then named the All-Star Game’s MVP award after the man who first wore the number 8 jersey and then changed it to number 24.
