PRINCETON — The Denison Yellow Jackets scored an extra point with a 5-4 shootout victory over Princeton after both teams ended in a scoreless draw in Division 13-5A.
Arby Sanchez, Anthony Cruz, Joseph Dornstadter, Matthew Rangel and Ryder Poole scored in the penalty shootout for Dennison (8-2-2, 0-0-1) as Kanyon Ives scored the penalty. Save and the difference is proven.
The Yellow Jackets will host McKinney North at Manson Stadium on Tuesday night.
McKinney North 2, Sherman 1
At McKinney, Garrett Wilkens scored for the Bearcats, but McKinney North broke the tie in the second half to win Sherman in a 13-5A action.
Wilkens scored in the 8th minute from an assist by Kevin Sanchez to put Sherman (3-9, 1-1) in front and McKinney North tied the game in the 30th minute.Bulldogs (3-3-2) , 1-0-1) scored the decisive goal in the 60th minute.
Yasir Rodriguez and Andrew Sandoval each made five saves for Sherman, who hosts Lovejoy on Tuesday night.
