Evansville, Indiana (WEHT) — A man in Evansville was jailed after he said his victim played too many “fight games.”

EPD officers were dispatched to an address along Covert Avenue late Saturday night after the screaming woman was reported. Police arrived and found the man and woman fighting on the ground, according to the affidavit.

After stopping the fight, police say the man resisted arrest and officers refused to handcuff him. Officers say they had to pepper spray the man to get him to comply. According to the affidavit, the man tried to stop the police from putting him on the transport wagon.

The female victim told officers that she and the man had “shadowboxed” at first, but the man grabbed her head and “did too much”. The victim says the man became more aggressive after she told him to “calm down.”

A 25-year-old Evansville man is in the Vanderborough County Jail and is facing charges of assault, public intoxication, resisting law enforcement and disorderly conduct.
