With a win over Hector Luis Garcia, one of last year’s breakout boxers, Davis prepares for a big pay-per-view clash with Ryan Garcia in April.
However, Davis had to wait to finish after the referee suspended the weekend’s bout in the eighth round for what appeared to be crowd trouble.
American rapper Meek Mill and boxer Gary Russell Jr. and his brother seemed to be arguing at ringside — and it may all have come down to loyalty.
Russell, for example, is very anti-Davis due to years of built-in boxing rivalries around the East Coast.
Meanwhile, Mill was rooting for Davis.
The altercation could be seen on Showtime’s pay-per-view broadcast, and eventually referee Albert Earl Brown stopped the fight until order was restored.
“Nobody had a problem leaving. Just yelling and pushing.”

Davis’ power made the difference again
A devastating shot from Davis in the eighth round affected Garcia so badly that he was either unable or unwilling to continue after the one-minute break between rounds.
This meant Davis had two consecutive stoppage victories in his career, setting a professional record of 28 wins (26 knockouts). he remains undefeated.
“When I got him, I knew he was injured,” Davis said in a post-fight interview with Showtime commentator Jim Gray. He’s a fighter, and I didn’t want to show that.”
The fight stats followed a familiar trend for Davis, with the heavy-handed fighter throwing fewer shots than Garcia (who landed 55 punches from 345 throws).
However, according to Compubox data sent to Insider, Davis was much more effective, completing 99 shots out of 239 attempts and achieving an accuracy rating of 41.4%.
Looks like Davis vs. Garcia is next
The path for undefeated rivals to compete in the £136 catchweight competition, which brings together the industry’s most powerful promoters, Premier Boxing Champions and Golden Boy Promotions, is now clear.
At the post-match press conference, Davis said, “I feel good. ‘Next, man — I’m ready for Ryan.'”
The event, which will likely land in Las Vegas in April, will air on Showtime pay-per-view and can also be watched on DAZN pay-per-view.
