PITTSBURGH – Former Pitt Panthers star running back Israel Avani Kanda gets the chance to show off his skills in front of NFL scouts on the biggest pre-draft stage of the year. Avani Kanda announced on Instagram that he has been invited to join his combine in NFL Scouting for 2023. Avani Kanda posted a photo of the invitation email on his story. The Combine will take place the first week of his March at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Avani Kanda emerged onto the national scene this year thanks to the Panthers’ rushing offense. After being sidelined in his game by prolific passing the past two seasons, he’s enthused with his runs long and his touchdowns to inspire the offense.
Avanikanda finished the season with 1,431 yards and 20 touchdowns, breaking Pitt’s single-game rushing yards record previously held by Tony Dorsett. He finished second in the ACC Player of the Year voting. Avani Kanda also broke his single game rushing touchdown record, which was set more than 100 years ago.
