With the final rankings announced and early registrants practicing with the program, it’s time to start closing the 2023 class chapter. Tennessee has had great success in this cycle and hopes this influx of talent will propel them forward.
Thanks to quarterback signatory Nico Iamaleava, fans are super excited about what this class will be like. Iamaleava is his No. 1 all-around recruit who oozes talent and charisma, and scouts have sought him out ever since he came on the scene.
One analyst recently gave him a lofty comparison. 247Sports’ Andrew Ivins compared Iamareava to Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert.
The physical similarity is astonishing. Both can make the throws they want from their huge frames and can usually send onlookers into shock. This is how Ivins deduced.
“Let’s start with the frame. Iamaleava can best be described as an athletic beanpole pushing 6’6″. Most people are familiar with the post-Oregon Herbert, but when he wasn’t 235 pounds There was Iamaleava Like few signal callers seen in recent years, he can tear the ball to any level of the field with ease. So I’m not afraid to challenge tight coverage windows, just like Herbert does in the NFL.”
